Team to beat in 1a next year?

PC loses 21 or 22 seniors I think. It will be a rebuilding year for sure. We'll probably have a JR for QB he's got a good arm, but I don't think we'll be running the spread in 2012. The boys who will have to step up, have had very limited playing time, so the coaches will have to earn their pay this coming year for sure.

I think it's 19 seniors, chemtrail. But yes, you are right, it will be a rebuilding year. Not sure about this, but I think Mathis is the only one returning who got a lot of playing time this year.

I know how that feels. In 1999 South Pitt went 15-0 and won the state with 11 seniors starting on each side of the ball. In 2000 South Pitt went 0-9.

I agree and it will be interesting to see how those Coalfield boys come along next year.

I dont care how along they come as long as we dont have to go back to that place. :roflol: I felt like we were on a mission the whole playoffs because we were playing on the road when we were supposed to be at home. Maybe if we had to go to Wayne County things would have been different. No nevermind they wouldnt have.

If Gordonsville coaches can get there players under control I don't see anybody beating them. They might have been the best team this year not to win it all in 1a!!

I remember the 3rd round game in 2007 and G.V. had the DB that like to stick his Gonads in peoples face after plays. Apparently he had done that in previous games. Either way, he did it to Cody Robinson and there was offsetting personal fouls. :roflol: That has been an ongoing issue and seems to be getting worse.

That came down as a result of losing to GCA in 3OT the last game of the season.

At this point Gordonsville is hands down the team to beat in the East next year! Followed by:

2)Greenback

3)South Pittsburg

4)Coalfied

I look for Gordonsville to play either Huntingdon or Union City for the 2012 Championship.

The Pirates can get there again but lots of question marks on this team: O-Line/D-Line, WR's, Secondary and KICKING GAME!!!!

GO PIRATES!!!

I heard that #40 put him out of the game for a little while the week before at G.V.

    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
