Dresden Lions 2012

Sounds like a sequel to the the movie I watched (A Commander Lion Killing) in Cookeville last December, reckon all that lifting and protein shake drinking must not be the answer you'd hoped for.

Unlike your mighty FCA Commanders we are new at this recruiting thing so it might take us a year or two to catch up to you!!!!! Although, we hear that a Dresden supporter will help with the tuition for Chad Clifton and Brett Farve to finish up their high school careers.

One positive note from the scrimmage was I didn't see any negative yardage punts.

Can someone elaborate on the scrimmage?? Was not able to attend.

The score was 4 TD's for Trenton and 2 for Dresden. First defensive series for Dresden looked very promising. Trenton might've got 15 yards on 10 plays. Dresden's first offensive series didn't result in many yards either. Our O line wasn't giving the QB enough time to get the snap off much less pass or hand off the ball. Trenton scored twice on the next series on long runs which shouldn't have happened because the runners were hit several times, but we didn't wrap up to make the tackle. Like hog said when we did throw the ball it came out late or was overthrown. Granted Dresden made plenty of subs and I don't think the starting offense or defense played together after the first series. Many of the kids were in totally new positions they haven't played before and were a little lost at times. No doubt they have some improvement to do but we also have plenty of time before the season starts, to improve. Doubt if we will look like this when we play Trenton at the jamboree.

In all honesty, Trousdale County was the best public school football team in 2A last year.

I'm good to go, must admit my work schedule has me traveling westward a lot this summer, hope it cools down some this fall. Been experimenting with a little clementine flavoring, that sound like something you'd like.

Actually Boyd probably has a better argument to be the best 2A school. They beat FCA two weeks before the championship game. Only ones that can really argue about it now is Dresden and FCS and we know how that worked out. They were the best team on that particular day. That also means that Dresden was the best public school in 2A last year

Trenton will surprise some people this year, granted this is only my opinion and we know what opinions are like. They have decient size on the line and are very fast. Looks like they will mainly be a running team which might give them problems later when teams stack the line to stop it. Secondary is very fast but they are pretty short so teams might throw over them, which Dresden did a couple times. They do have one kid playing corner that is a stud! Think he also plays reciever.

 

Dresden showed up and I think they will be fine come season time. Hopefully yesterday was a wake up call. It's too bad the Henry County scrimmage is canceled but their boys shouldn't be thinking about football after losing one of their players. Prayers go out to the family and Henry County.

You are aware that Boyd is a private school as well. I'm pretty sure it's FCS not FCA.
