Really Top 10? Maybe a better thread would be does any region in TN have 10 referees that someone actually likes? If so, I need to move there. I can't get past about 3 or 4 in our region.

Well Memphis refs def have to be the worst in the state..however ill give mr marking that teaches at cbhs and Carl pfieffer credit

I've been on both sides...as a coach...and as a ref...I feel as if it should be mandatory that if you want to coach, that you should don the stripes as well...

1) it gives you more insight on the rules

2) it allows a coach the experience on making certain calls...

What should be mandatory by the TSSAA is that if you are going to coach a sport you must pass (75%+) the same open book test as the officials.

If they cannot make a 75+% on an open book test they should not be coaching. Are they not educators first and a wrestling coach second? Something tells me they may not want to take the test but they could pass an open book test if they would read the book.
