Reg. 7AA Tourn.

Reg. 7AA First Round games should be interesting. OC hosts Chester Co., Lexington hosts Dyersburg, Covington hosts McNairy Co., Boliver hosts Westview. So what do you think? This should be fun to watch.

Should be an interesting opening round.. All 13AA teams have been battle tested as both the consolation and Championship games went into overtime this past weekend.. McNairy was upset in the 14AA district tourney after going undefeated during the regular season in District Play. They will have a tough time on the road at a very good Covington Lady Charger team. If Westview can contain the tempo of Bolivar on the road and emerge victorious, you could possibly see a 13AA sweep of 14AA in the opening round, thus sending the 7AA semifinals back to Dyersburg high school.

 

It'll be intersting to see who brings their "A" game after almost a week off..

I'll go with:

 

OC over Chester Co. - Chester is good and young, but OC should handle this one fairly easily. OC by 15.

 

Dyersburg over Lexington - Dyersburg lost to Covington in the district semi's as Lexington beat a very good McNairy team in the district tournaments to be able to host this first round region game. I say Dyersburg by 8.

 

Covington over McNairy - This game could go either way honestly. Covington is playing some awesome ball right now, probably the best out of any team in this region. McNairy had a slip-up in the districts and could use that loss as motivation for this region tournament. I still say Covington by 5.

 

Westview over Bolivar - Despite finishing as the 4 seed in 13AA, Westview didn't play bad in the tournament. Bolivar comes in at the 1 seed in 14AA, however I'm sure Coach Stephenson will have a game plan for Bolivar's athletes. I believe this will be the closest of the 4 games and I'll go with Westview by 1.

 

I'm not picking it like this just because I'm for 13AA. I've seen all of these teams play and just giving my opinion.

I think there is a chance of a 13AA sweep. But, I don't think it will happen. Obion and Dyersburg will win by double digits and Covington/Mcnairy and Bolivar/ Westview will be toss-ups. I think 14AA will take at least one of those.

Bolivar and McNairy go down. Any reports on Obion/Chester and Lexington/Dyersburg

All four 14AA teams go down. Looks like Dyersburg/Lexington may have been the best game with Bolivar/Westview also close. Other 2 were not. Our lady bobcats were beaten at Covington.

 

I believe this means the girls region goes back to Dyersburg

Well, we move back to Dyersburg. With the 13AA sweep, teams that know each other very well will battle Monday night. Westview vs Covington will likely be a contrast of tempo again, and then OC takes on Dyersburg on their home floor. Should be a very interesting night of basketball, 4 good teams, looking for two good games. Who wins? In two close games, I say Covington and OC will come out on top, and then OC/Covington IV.

Well, the sweep happened. Good luck to all the teams in District 13AA. Hope one of you guys can bring the gold ball back to your school. Alot of good programs in that district.
