Can you say B L O W O U T !! When Clay County started the game with a 3 pointer....I knew then that they came to play. Jackson County looked real tired and the second half of the Union City game may have tired them out some and with Clay Co winning in overtime...they were riding in high. Congrats. Enjoyed watching the game. We will all more than likely see each other next year. Enjoy the moment.

On Jan. 17 Jackson County beat Clay County at Clay by 31 points. March 10 Clay County beat Jackson County by 21 points. That is a 52 point swing in the first time these 2 teams met, until this time. Jackson County could win 99 out of a 100, but it wouldn't matter if they can't win that 1 big one and that is what we have here. It was awesome to see 2 teams from this area competing for a state championship, teams I can travel 20 to 25 minutes and see 2 of the states finest teams play.

Jackson County has nothing whatsoever to be ashamed of, they are a very good ball team and every high school team in Tennessee that play A ball, with the exception of 1 team, would be very glad to take that silver ball home to put in their trophy case. Jackson County only has 2 seniors and they're the type of team that reloads so I expect them back next year and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them playing on Saturday in March about this time next year too!

I for one did not expect Clay County to even be playing in the state championship. All year long I was riding high on Lake County and Jackson County playing in the state championship. I'm glad they got that Gold Ball as they played one heck of a tournament to get it. It doesn't matter how you finish in those other district or region championships, it's this championship that matters!

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
