Well, this will be a great test for both teams. Regardless of how either team has played thus far, I'm sure both will be fired up and ready to play. As far as the Rhea County and Farragut games go, I'd tally those up to first game issues. Both teams have had time to build on mistakes since then and it shows. I just don't think I can handle another tight one like last year. :-/ lol

I know, right? That game about killed any nerves i had left that day lol...We stopped Mobley great there for the first half..His size and strength took over in the 2nd half. BUT, except for those few real long runs, we held him in check for the most part. Unfortunately those long runs were td's lol

Lol. He saved us for sure. You guys played him tougher than Henry County did in the championship, I think. This year we use 2 backs. One is a little bigger with 4.5 speed and decent vision...the other is a lot smaller with 4.3 speed and great vision. What I am gettin at is it takes the two of them to make up for Mobley, but so far they're doing a good job. Mobley will get playing time in the Kentucky - Louisville game tomorrow. Hope he makes all of us in the area proud!

Well, i am sure they will be tough...Are those legit electronically timed 40's? You know their were just a handful, and i mean a few NFL players who ran in the 4.3's in the NFL combine? Not being smart, but a lot of times i have a hard time accepting the times some of the people on here throw out. Our RB Moore is a track specialist and placed in the top 10 in the state in the 100Meters and i would bet he runs near a 4.5 give or take...

Believe me, I'm just as much of a skeptic as the next guy, and I'm just going off of what my coach friends have told me. I know both run track, but that has nothing to do with the price of rice in China. Lol. Washington is a legit 4.5 to 4.6 and I've seen Gardin blow his doors off, but I'm not beyond thinking those numbers could be inflated a bit by the coaching staff. Not that speed matters at all if you dont know how to use it, ya know?

Very true, man. the unheralded blockers are the one making the difference. Moore is probably the fastest RB that OR has ever had or one of the fastest, and he can mortally fly. McMinn Co posters told us OR fans they had kids that ran in the 4.3's last year before our playoff game. I said, well they may, but their isn't one of them that will catch Moore in the open field. Well....Moore got loose and he not only outran them, but put distance between the guys they said ran 4.3's...lol I just think a lot of that is fluffed up coach talk, personally. Run a legit electronically timed 4.3, then we will talk lol...

Lol. I couldn't agree more. I probably should have thought about that before I opened my mouth. I know Moore is lightning fast. I've always followed Oak Ridge football in the past, but recently I the last 3 yrs started following Powell because my wife teaches there. Moore is one of those exciting backs like Adrian Porter, Corey Booker, and Spencer Gullmire. He has the potential to take it to the house everytime he touches it.

Yes, he is, but much faster then all the ones you mentioned. Porter was more elusive. Spencer would just run you over and walk on your facemask in the process lol...Booker was fast, but Moore would blow him out of the water if they were to run against one another, especially now being Corey is about 28 lol....Bohannon is the only one i could compare to Moore in terms of straight line speed. Not even Summers was that fast, although he was fast. Jamie Redmond back in the 80s could flat fly, along with Eric Menefee. I am proud of you, you know your OR football lol

I can run a 4.3 from my Couch to the Fridge ... I know ... not bad for an old fart .. right ??!! Gotta pull for all the young Maryville coaches out there , but I think Oak Ridge gets some Pay Back .. big time

Pep, that is blazing fast...you should ask GQ if he would let you walk-on....And i hope your right..I don't know about big time payback, but i hope we win.

Our rich tradition don't win ballgames, cotton. Us OR fans, even though we do have one of the most storied programs in Tennessee need to stop living in the past. With that being said, powellphoto corrected your snafu before i could with the overall series haha icon_e_smile.gif

I am so up in arms about this game. I really can't tell. Yall struggled with a Rhea Co team that just got hammered by Mcminn County. We spring out to a what looked to be like a blowout game vs Farragut, only to fall apart. We were kinda just ho hum vs Central it seemed and never really got into that game it seems. Yall just kill Halls, but it is Halls...Geez, who knows?

I stand corrected. My apologies to the OR faithful. I think this is going to be a really good football game. Definitely the game of the week in East Tennessee.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
