There was a lot of buildup to this year, and we returned just about everyone. I think to many people just assumed that this was the year we were going to beat them. Not the case.

I think a lot of people underestimated how well their line would play against us, and they whipped us up front which was totally unexpected, at least by people on this side anyways.

Dadgum Croz....that SC game must have stung a little. You've brought it up 2-3 times. Let it go. I tried to tell ya'll SCs line had 3 starters returning and all 3 are pretty good (LA's is better). G-ville didn't break the SC streak, but now ya'll have a good chance to break another. So far G-ville has won 1 that matters, now win the rest.

It did sting. I won't lie. However, I am over it, but just using it as an example, and we will end one streak tomorrow.

OK Time for a thought or two. True, the Jackets had a HORRIBLE game at JAckson Co. And the trip to Greenwood wasn't pretty. The Macon Co. game was simply business as usual. This week there is a lot on the line. I have to believe that these good ol' boys from TC will feel a bit of pride and play to uphold the tradition. If Gordonsville is the better team, they will definitely have to play to show it. Should be a GREAT game. Hope all these doubting TC fans will show up and support these kids, win or lose. Bad mouthing them helps nothing. Countdown to kickoff begins! GO JACKETS!!!!!

Croz, normally i agree on most of what you say but I'm pretty confident Gordonsville will NEVER overlook any Trousdale team, Pickett Co yes, but never Trousdale.

I didn't say that they are. You're right, they should never overlook TC. But, I'm wondering if that may have happened a little against SC. Not saying that it did, but looking at the result, it's a possibility.

How could they overlook SC given the outcome the past several years?

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
