Marion (6-2) vs Copper Basin (6-1)

Recommended Posts

So I assume Marion gained at least 300 rushing yards?

Likely did Ambassador. On page 14 you also predicted a stress free game for Marion. PG and TTP summed this game up nicely. Our passing game kept us in it early, team didn't fold, bruising ground game became more difficult for CB to stop as the game wore on. No fumbles or turn overs tonight (hope that's correct this week). Seemed every time we had the ball scoring was essential. Turn overs would have cost us big this game. Good job to all backs and receivers on that part. Game ball to #45 for that last tackle to stop CB on 4th and 1. Game wasn't secure until that point. Also #24 for a TD saving tackle earllier in the game. Kudoes as always for the exceptional job #20 turns in each week. Last TD run was impressive.

Very impressed with CB team. Confident and well coached. No quit in these guys either. MC has opportunities to fold early; CB has the same opportunity in the 2nd half. Neither team did. Simply came down to Zeman pounding the ball late in the game. Congrats to the cougars; hope you do well in upcoming playoffs. A team this good deserved more support from their fans. CB folks who stayed home missed one well played ballgame. Good job CB. You have my respect.

First off CB was much better than advertised, they really killed themselves with penalties. If the penalties were the other way they would have one. The penalties were legitimate and deserved however, on the TD called back the holding was right in front of the linesman and very obvious, they were not a subtile team. CB's offense is as good as any team MC has played, the line in particular was tough. Their defense played 8 in the box all night and left themselves open to some pass plays but they still could not stop BZ, kid is an animal.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
