Got a few of the Boyd Buchanan Bucs linemen to throw in the mix.

Malik Brewer (#78) and Austin Bailey (#55) both stand out on both our offensive and defensive lines. Malik is the biggest lineman we have at 6'3, 320 lbs, and has started for 3 seasons. He got playing time as a freshmen as well. He is a load to handle as many teams have found out this season. Austin Bailey is a 3 year starter at C/DE. He is probably the most physical, aggressive lineman we have. He will get after it, and it seems like his motor does not stop. Both of these guys are critical parts of the success we have had this season. It always all starts upfront!

Zach Stewart #55 from Coalfield should be considered. He is only a soph. but a 3 year starter for the yellowjackets. 6'4 265 lb RT/DE. After 8 weeks he has 83 total tackles, 19 tfl, and 12 sacks according to prepextra.com. He is also a dominate blocker in the yellowjacket attack with over 20 pancakes and has given up 0 sacks. A great representative from 1A in the Knoxville area.

I remember him from the last two years. He is only a sophomore and will win this award someday. As for this season? It's either one of the kids from Gordonsville.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
