If Fairview managed to "lose" this one what would that do to their seeding.

They would finish 6-4 but would still hold tiebreakers over Lewis and Hickman and JCM (even if all 3 of them were to win)

Win or lose, Fairview would be seeded the same if they are placed in Quad 4 playing at Milan. The only way that can change is if Raleigh Egypt beats Manassas then the Jackets would host a first round game against Hickman Co. Remember that is if they are in Quad 4.

 

If they are in Quad 3, if Fairview wins they would play at the winner of York/Smith. If Fairview loses they would play at Westmoreland. The Notre Dame-Grundy Co. game can play a factor in their seeding. If Grundy wins and Fairview wins then Fairview goes to Westmoreland. If Grundy wins and Fairview loses then Fairview goes to CPA.

What about Smith Co possible playoff opponents?

Smith Co. is looking at a couple potential opponents. Here are some scenarios to ponder.

 

If Grundy Co. loses and Smith wins. Smith will be the # 4 seed in Quad 3. They could potentially play a couple of opponents. If East Hickman gets in the playoffs then the Owls would play Fairview under this scenario. If Austin East makes the playoffs, then Tyner would be the Owls opponent.

 

If Grundy loses and Smith loses. Smith will probably be the # 6 seed and would go play at Westmoreland if East Hickman makes the playoffs. If Austin East makes the playoffs then the Owls would go have a rematch with York Institute.

 

If Grundy wins and Smith wins then the Owls would travel to Grundy Co. for their first game.

 

If Grundy wins and Smith loses then it depends on if East Hickman or Austin East makes the playoffs. If East makes it, then Smith would play CPA. If Austin East makes it then they would go to Westmoreland.

There are some possible scenarios where that could happen however for it to happen you would need a couple of major upsets. Let's just say Derek Dooley has a better chance of beating a ranked team before it happens.

Is there any scenario in which teams as far east Tyner or Polk Co. could be pushed to Quad 3?

Remember this is just my projection and your team can prove me wrong. I only have one team with a losing record getting in and that is East Hickman at 4-6 who holds the tiebreaker over Upperman who is the 33rd team. Austin East could spoil the party late if they beat Gibbs this week. I am going to take Gibbs but the game could go either way.

Head to head doesn't factor into seeding only 2 way ties. I have Sweetwater finishing as runner up in the district in a 3 way tie.
