Wow!

1st neither team is going to win by a 34 point margin….period.

2nd DeKalb does NOT have 4 or 5 players better than McCoin or Hayes…..I think one can make the argument that Phillips is a better true QB than McCoin and that Molander is just as good a playmaker if not better than Hayes. Hayes is the best RB in the district or 2nd behind Manning depending on your preference…..that’s a FACT. I also will concede that McCoin is the #1 overall playmaker in the league. With all that being said I believe Dekalb has more athletes across the board than LA…..plus DC has the best defensive player on the field in Puckett. I feel likeit’s DC game to loose Friday night in Livingston.

I will put Linder or Reagan up against Puckett anytime. If you dont know & respect their play you will after friday night! SC came with the same talk about their offenseive line taking Linder out of the game, then after the game they admitted he is a beast that couldnt be stopped. Just wondering how Puckett has faired against mccoin & co in the past? Stats ...? Our offensive numbers against dc look pretty good! Oh & if your comeback is that he has grown & gotten stronger, smarter, faster .... SO HAVE THE HOGS!

Puckett wasn't even a defensive end last year. Position changes have been made on defense and they worked out great. We will just see in a few days what happens.

IMO Ronnie Linder is the best offensive/defensive lineman in the district and second to none without a doubt. If you have not seen the young man play, and yes, I saw DC play SC and know about Puckett, then you aren't entitled to say that he isn't. Ronnie Linder is the best lineman on the field Friday night, and the rest of the Wildcat O/D Line is right there, too. McCoin and Hayes and company don't get a single yard without those big guys. That's the reason LA has been so fun to watch over the past two years.

Hayes will be the best player on the field friday night. He makes a lot of folks miss in the back field and once he gets in the open field he cuts as well as anybody I have seen. If LA picks up Dekalb's blitz or Hayes makes one or two miss in the back field, he could rush for 200. The key to this game will be LA handling the blitz up front.

Changing the subject just a bit here! Have you seen his little brother play? Saw him in one game this year that I don't think he was tackled in. Look out in a couple of years!

ok well i have been readin all this talk sayin that dc has five players better than mccoin and hayes? i have not seen anyone better than those two. and mccoin is ten times better of a quarterback than phillips. la has more than running also mccoin can throw the ball deep and you will find out friday night . and yes you have to give mohlander he is good but we have several people that can shut him down and stay with him and if im guessin right coach lamb will put mark winningham on him and mark is super quick. dc you have a tough game comin to you friday night get ready im sayin la will win 41 to 7!!!!!!!

I heard the Overton County Sheriffs deputies had burned a pot patch today. Must be true!

These are aggregate stats from games played against mutual opponents (Smith County, Upperman, White County, Cannon, and York).

Points For: DC 226 LA 209

Points Against: DC 46 LA 80

NET POINT Differential: DC 180 LA 129

Rushing Yards: DC 1,021 LA 1,156

Rushing Yards Against: DC 395 LA 770

Passing Yards: DC 1,247 LA 809

Passing Yards Against: DC 361 LA 426

NET YARD ADV: DC 1,512 LA 769

Based upon this year's stats it looks like LA has a legitimate claim their offensive line is good based upon rushing stats. How do you figure your D-line is better considering you have given up more rushing yards, more passing yards and more points to like opponents?

I don't think it is fair to compare individual players as each performs a role and may be called to do something different for his team. Just because Phillips has thrown for more yards and run for approximately the same as McCoin does not mean he is better. Just because Puckett has more sacks, tackles for a loss and total tackles etc than Linder does not mean he is better. It also does not mean either are worse! It is exciting to see two fan bases so supportive and in some cases on both sides blindly enthusiastic.

What is the best restaurant near LA? How late are they open? I personally intend to eat a good meal post game regardless of outcome. Glad to read today that we will be in different quads for playoffs allowing both of us to make a run. Sad to see our new quad is probably the strongest of the four.

I give post of the year to this man, everyone quit being so arrogant about your players. I've seen a lot of football in my days all across the state. It is always the same thing that decides who wins, it's who shows up and wants it more. Bottom line there is a lot of great players on both teams but you all are looking at the small picture.

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
