Dickson County - #1 Seed - Quad 3 - What a Joke!

KWC,

A very well thought out articulate post. I think it is a shame that our system has to be driven by travel expenses though unfortunately it appears that is the nature of the beast. I don't always agree with every topic but I appreciate your logical thought process. And you didn't call me "gay baby".

Yeah ... I thought the 'gay baby' comment was WAY over the line.

By the way, I'm not a big fan of the current system myself but I see why they went with it. I think it is a shame that a 8-2 Wilson Central is a 7 seed in the same braket that has Independence seeded above them as a 5 seed with a 6-4 record. What a reward for the 2 seeded Brentwood to get an 8-2 and Wilson Central in the first round.

I think the current system needs to be tweeked a bit.

I will reframe from calling anyone a gay baby anymore but don't talk about anyones commuity. I am from Henry County I live and work in Dickson County I have a son that goes to DCHS to say that we live in trailer parks is not right I alos know calling people gay is not right also May the topic should have been labled a little different Calling Dickson County a joke is wrong also the young men have worked hard all year to get to this point it no joke to them and the people behind the seans it no joke to the either. But i will get off my soap box. Now that i said that lets talk about a subject that is near and dear to all of our hearts high shool post season football we all kow the system is broken and no hope for a fix this year what adout next year will it the same old thing or what?

Yea dint forget Pat talking bout how good DC d was-

MJ rolled 400 rush yards on them

Look DC did a fine job what was in front if them ( there schedule)

But the DC faithful drank the kool aid

They played in a cupcake district and had a powder puff schedule.....

We will see how good BHS's defense is next week, and DC may be moving to a new cupcake district next year with all the powder puffs in WilCo. and their gracious fans who think they are the only ones who deserve to play football in Tennessee! Go DC!

I do not normally respond to nonsense such as what is posted on this website however being a very upset MOM after having read these posts I felt that I had to state my opinion since this is a OPINION site. To Notredame666 you really need to learn to use correct grammar and spelling while posting on this website. "dint" is not the correct spelling for didn't and you also did not use the correct spelling of the word there. It should have been their. (That is the English teacher in me telling you this) You are also not nice at all!!! My son along with all of the other cougar football team cannot determine who they play. They can only play the opponents they are scheduled to play. When playing the games they give their all and strive to win every game. My son gave 150% on the field each and every game this season and hates to see his career in football come to an end. He has learned more than just football in the past four years. He has learned discipline, teamwork, and work ethic. I am proud that my son played football at DCHS. In my opinion I have found that most people on this website are mean old men that like to bash young men who just want to play football. Grow up and get a life instead of bashing high school kids. This is one angry mom now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. You said yourself " this is an opinion site "

Well I was stating my opinion that DC didn't deserve the #1 seed and had a cupcake district/schedule and they were WAY overated .... So you see I was stating MY OPINION - well actually after last night we could say factual!!

2.sorry I thought this was a football board, not an English 101 class! So sorry that my fingers hit the wrong keys on my Iphone or the auto correct spells out incorrectly.Sorry I still like my Notre Dame diploma over your university of Phoenix On Line one

3 mean old man? Far Far from that I am-however I am touched that you took the time to say hello to me......

Let me clarify - as I assumed I did earlier in my other posts.....

I respect the DC program going 9-1

I also respect any child that for 4 years pours his heart blood tears and soul onto the football field for his HS... ( that is why HS football is great )

You are correct for 95% playing HS ball makes you a better man in life

Now again this is not to take away what DC did during the season- as stated the kiss did what they had to and finished 9-1

They can't help they were in a cupcake conference and played a weak schedule -

The kids can't help TSSAA gave them a #1 seed

The truth is your team was not very good and thanks to TSSAA flawed playoff format got a #1 seed unfairly.....that is what this thread started at- has nothing to do how your lil Johnny gave it his best!!!!!

You know that as a 9-1 team you could be overated right?

You do know that yourself AND others bought into the hype and thought you were worthy of a #1 seed

Dies not matter now as your season is over, my opinion as to how your team is overated proved to be correct...

No as you said I am probably mean, go take Johnny to the school to drop his pads off and go home to bake some cookies...

Game set match

I do not care about a number one seed. I do not care if our team is overrated, underrated or rated at all. I do not care about the TSSAA. I care about the student athletes. I do not like people putting down the student athletes. It is a sorry world we live in when we must put down the efforts of teenage boys who just want to play football. You have a degree from Notre Dame; I have a Masters in Education (Reading Specialist) from Austin Peay. I do not have a degree from the University of Phoenix online. Oh, and I do not bake cookies. However, I do teach, volunteer by helping people with disabilities, work with the reading is real program to expose children to lifelong reading, and I own a business that is fulfilling and profitable.

Thanks for the bio of your life

Again did I single of a certain player of DC ? No

I stated my opinion that DC didn't earn a #1seed

According to you we should just play the game and don't keep score-,we could call every game a tie and give all the kids trophys

Can't be too good if you live in Dickson -

Maybe your kid should be a cheerleader that way we don't have a winner or loser

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
