Yeah Lucas is decent, but was not more deserving of the spotlight then Hayes or mccoin. Sick of the dekalb hype.

Don't be bitter. Hayes and McCoin will get plenty of spotlight if they keep winning. Lucas is one of the kindest young men I know and has had a very good year. Just be happy for him. If McCoin or Hayes gets recognized in the same way that would be great. It is more difficult for them to receive individual honors because they split so much of the workload limiting both their numbers a bit.

It's not DeKalb hype it's 1 player and if Brock was a better thrower than yea he might have deserved it but a QB throws the ball I believe that's what the position does... Lucas deserves it just as much or more than anybody couldn't have gone to a nicer guy

So QBs are only supposed to throw the ball? Running the ball works too if you're athletic enough. Seems to have worked well for a man named Tim Tebow. Next time you have a thought, please take the liberty of slapping yourself in the face. You're quite the comedian...

Of course running works too. Phillips rushing yardage was greater than that of McCoin this year as well as his passing. That does not mean he is better. McCoin has Hayes to hand off too and DeKalb tends to go empty backfield a lot. Stats drive rewards and recognition more often than not. McCoin is fantastic an demonstrated that in week 10. I hope colleges and award granted took notice. Nevertheless, Phillips deserves all he gets. Great kid, good athlete and a leader. Looking forward to round two between both teams. Wish we were healthy but this time of year you just have to suck it up and leave it all on the field. Ribeye sammiches in my future.

Don't compare your quarterback to Tim Tebow. I feel like you are quite the comedian too.

Make Brock throw the ball and we have a chance. Make him hand it off to creed because Brock is alot better runner than creed. Have a better chance of stopping creed

The only problem you guys fix by making Brock throw the ball is we will score quicker thus not controlling the clock as much. So pick your poison! Brock throwing, running, or handing to Creed will result in points on the board! Your key is trying to move the ball on the Wildcat defense. As far as the 2 quarterbacks, both sound like outstanding young men & congrats to Phillips on the article. Ive said all along that Brock has that something special that separates him from others & its not athleticism, competitiveness, or heart which alot of these players have but a combination of all. Plus that something extra that some just have. Cates, Dunn, D. Mccoin all had it, hogeye fans know what im talking about. Mark it down, Brock will be reconized before these playoffs are over. Maybe on the highest stage! But to get there we need Creed, The Hogs, & everybody else laying it all on the line. Dekalb better get of the tracks CAUSE THE HOGEYE TRAIN IS COMING!

Tim who? A better example would be Wilson Cates IMO!

    • Wow, that really stinks. I hate that for you guys.
    • Not sure what you mean? 40 TOTAL? Macon is a good team no doubt, but I believe they've only scored 35 total points against Uppeeman the last two years, and that's over three games.
    • This scenario resonates with the dynamics observed in my hometown of Hartsville. The undue influence of politics on high school sports remains a pervasive issue, detracting from the integrity of athletic programs.  The proliferation of individuals driven by a thirst for power inevitably precipitates the downfall of any program. It appears that we are currently grappling with similar challenges akin to those faced by Greenback. Please accept my condolences for your ordeal.
    • From what we are hearing on the reservation we will be lucky to beat sunbright. And trust me I am not throwing stones at them because they play their hearts out. It’s a tuff game every year, just like Oakdale but when you have small numbers that’s what you get. And then you add in that you loose two top linemen and the starting qb!!!! Along with a running back!  We are in deep trouble.
    • The coach's departure ensued due to the absence of backing from the board members, compounded by the unsettling revelation that one board member persistently surveilled him, verging on conduct akin to harassment. Furthermore, it appears that meeting the expectations of this community remains an unattainable feat, as even a hypothetical scenario of clinching five consecutive state championships would likely not suffice to quell discontent. The current situation is fraught with complications, primarily stemming from applicants for the position who have cultivated relationships with board members known to have opposed the former coach.
