Faking a punt up 35 with 4 minutes left in the game!

FBD, sorry if you do not share my view, not the first time we have disagreed.

But if it happens once, it is an isolated incident. If it happens again under the exact same circumstances, it is called a pattern.

I think you just have a hard time with saying, "hey someone in our camp had a lapse in judgement..maybe."

Geez, our coaches and players had about 25 lapses last night. It's not that hard to do.

Evidently some people do view it as unsportsman like.

If you are that good, you should be able to just line up and grind out the first down and then kill the clock.

Moving on.

No problem with this analogy or point of few at all. And I have no problem in saying that we have lapses in judgement from time to time as well. What I have an issue with is the strong accusations about our program, which go well beyond the scope of one single play in a game that was merely a kid, on his own prerogative, getting the first down, stepping out of bounds, and then the coach running out the clock. CAK was NOT trying to run up the score on anyone or anything like what is being suggested. If under these circumstances, that I have explained thoroughly, the football world decides that CAK was acting in an unsportsmanlike manner then I apologize. But to suggest CAK's program is "classless" is much more unsportsmanlike than what happened on the field. Yes, moving on.....

I'll accept FBD's explanation here. No dog in this fight.

Ain't gonna fault the kid for instinctively making what was technically a good decision. I like a player who goes 100% to the final buzzer. Ain't gonna fault the coach for not thinking to tell the kid, "We're up 35, just punt the ball, no matter what you see downfield."

We should all let it go now... Mountain Troll is probably the subject matter expert when it comes to fake punts....(I mean this with all respect Troll)

That was the point I guess I was was trying to get across.

CRB probably could have done just that...after the same kid took off with the ball up by 35 365 days earlier. : )

Thanks. Yeah I was thinking I was going to get to see Polk's home town and soak up some of the great tradition and atmosphere. Sounds like Kingston came in and played a solid game. I'm sure Polk and CAK will see each other again, but we have some rebuilding to do over the next few years.

Kingston played a nearly perfect game....they capitalized on ALL of our mistakes and Polk had WAY to many...they couldn't stop our running game until inside the 5 TWICE.... And I'm sure you know how our passing games went I think we threw 3 or 4 int....Polk had its entire secondary out for injury and sicknesses....bottom line Kingston played a great game and I respect then for it.

Bad timing on the illnesses and turnovers. But Polk will be back strong. No shame in getting beat by Kingston.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
