I was hoping someone else would answer this question. Some people have a problem with "know it alls". What is saw was Gaddis (new), Spratling, Mitchell, Don Colquitt (new), Thompson, Pace, Younger, Jeff Miner (returning, new), last day of Spring Brian Wyatt (new) showed up. Not sure about Coach Russell. No Gulmire, Saunders retired.

Gaddis has said he wanted to add one or two more. Wyatt is one. Hopefully the other is Kwayu Graham.

Thanks for the info Nole. Don Colquitt is a great addition, I'm glad we got him.

Knox Catholic head coach Dan Schlafer - named to the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2013

Lenoir City head coach and former ORHS quarterback - founder of the CARE 365 program for character

AND Kingsport assistant coach Graham Clark - 219-46 as head coach of Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett (1988-present)

Interesting list of names. Gaddis was clearly the best choice, but Clark would've been a quality coach for OR, too. Just as he has been for DB. Hasn't seemed to have been able to get over the proverbial hump with DB, though.

Dude, way too much time on your hands to come up with this. You need to get back to work. Good stuff.

Some people don't understand how good of a player spencer was. If Robertsville or Jefferson had a true 8th grade version of him last year they would not have lost a game.

I disagree with that. If your statement was true then our 2005 team would have won the state championship. Because not only was Spencer on that team but also a lot of other very good players. I agree that Spencer was a very great player, perhaps one of the top three in OR history, but I disagree with your statement about Robertsville or Jefferson winning every game because of a "Spencer" type player. The 2005 team lost TWO games with Spencer plus MANY very good players.

How would u rate the 2005 coaching staff then?

I would rate the 2005 coaching staff much better than the current staff at Robertsville or Jefferson (and I'm not saying either staff is bad). The point was made that if a "Spencer" type player had existed at either middle school last year that they would have won all of their games. He's talking about the "pup" although never mentioned him. Spencer was GREAT but his team in 2005 lost twice.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
