Heard he didn't make weight. I bet Ryan Whitaker is happy!

Ryan had a bit of mixed feelings about it. On one hand he felt bad for Boatman( that's the kind of kid he is) and like most of the better wrestlers he was looking forward to a rematch. But on the other hand it did take some pressure off him and he seems to be wrestling very relaxed. But he's not taking anyone lightly. He knows he still has o wrestle at his best. 7 different Region One schools will be represented on the same team that will be traveling down to the Dixie Duals in Hoover, Alabama March 15th-17th!!

 

Wrestlers from Sullivan South, Davy Crocket, Greeneville, Morristown East, Morristown West, TN High, and Science Hill will join others from Bradley Central, Abingdon (VA), and South Side (AL) to form "Team B-East" and see how they stack up against the best from other states including: Alabama, North Carolina, Louisiana, Florida and Michigan!

 

This will be a great experience for the wrestlers in our region. It is encouraging to see so many of our local kids stepping out of their comfort zone and facing the best competition they can find!

 

I look forward to watching these kids all make memories and grow together in the sport.

Good luck with Dixie, I've been going for a while and it's progressively gotten worse and worse. Teams are boycotting it because its now ran so poorly.

Well I do know that it was near impossible to get information on the tournament. All I could find was the date and address on the website. Nothing about the price, how to sign up, no info on the youth tournament, nothing! I sent an email to the contact it gave and never got anything back. I eventually had to post on an Alabama forum to get someone to contact me about it.

I've never seen a tournament with such little obtainable info about it.

 

I've been to this tournament a multiple times a couple years ago, and enjoyed it. But I really hope the issue with obtaining information and sigbing up doesn't reflect how the tournament will be run. Because that was a very unorganized and unprofessional.

Looks like a tough group of kids. Does broyles even weigh enough to go 160? I didn't think I'd ever see him wrestle anything higher than 52. Lol
