Hamm can u comment on why Sidney Blackwood is still 2nd with hardly any results online for him and hasn't competed against other ranked wrestlers...

Blackwood has a similar case to that of Reagan (Heavyweight). He has no reported loss to any D1 wrestler and he is a 2x state medallist.

Am I the only one that doesnt want his kids ranked?? i tell Hamm every week to take the kids off the rankings . i would rather fly under the radar. And you would think for all of the money $$$$ that is being thrown at Hamm to do the rankings that he would do more in depth research.

Hahaha hahaha, $$$$$$

Explain to me how, Byron Smith beats Austin Stevison yet neither move. Tre Delgato beats Austin Richards yet Delgato doesnt move up, BUT Lane Dickeson beats Kyle Lee and moves all the way to 4. Might i add that Lee also almost lost to Butler from Beech. These seem a little biased to me. Not to mention, Podany from Beech sits behind Reagan when he has beaten everyone, his only loss coming in OVERTIME to perhaps the best wrestler in state history. The current record holder for wins, Amos Mason. And if i am correct which i know i am, the last time they met, Podany won. The only reason a see for Reagan being 1 and Podany 2, is beause Reagan placed higher at state. Somethin kinda not a fair reason because they didnt wrestle the same people. Reagan is undefeated yes but who has he faced? Podany has faced much better competition and has just one loss in overtime to Mason. This is all a bit off and a little biased if u ask me

Reagan hasn't wrestled quality?. I wouldn't call Jayshon or Bowen anything but quality. The only competition Podany really face that is different is Mason...who has already had three decision wins this year while only giving up i believe two last year. At state [pdany westled Barlette and won 3-2 while reagan pinned in 2nd period, Podany got pinned at state by the runner up while Bruno Majored him at Dixie Duals. Just my counter argument. In the end it all come to Feb anyways.

On a separate, unrelated, yet somewhat related note. While Amos Mason is the real deal, I would venture to say he's probably not the best wrestler in state history. What are his current wins? You said he holds the win record? Did he pass Hookers record and nobody was told of this?

well maybe some of these kids were ranked to high to begin with. I guess we will see how it plays out in a few weeks. not sure how a kid with a 5-1 record is ranked higher then some other 106 guys that have a lot more matches under there belt.

Couldnt agree more

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
