I think Macon would have finished higher than 6th, I would place them #3 if they would have been in 8AA

I was referring to YAI not Macon. Macon would have been in the hunt for the title....and likely will be next year.

Settle down there my friend, I didn't say we were going to come in a blow 8AA away, I said in a couple of years there would not be an 8AA sweep again. Every team in 7AA is young, and ND has the best group of upcoming girls. Give the coach lots of credit. Never had a winning season until this year. First two years at ND, he's been coach of the year for 7AA both years. They gave York all they could handle last week. For most of the girls, playing in their first regional game, against a very talented York team, they got over the nerves quickly, and held their own until about 3 mins. left in the game when it got away from them.

They will be back.

 

York was one of the lower teams in the district this year. Can't overlook the fact that Notre Dame also has a 22 point loss to DeKalb who went 1-11 in the district this year. 8AA has talent year in and year out.

I expected York to be much better than they were this year....they brought back so much talent. Credit to the great players and coaches in the district, I guess!

Also, is Macon just being added or is someone moving as well?

Macon is just being added. Almost lost Livingston to AAA, they are the biggest AA school in the state.

I never realized they were that much larger...they could compete in any division though, really.

Cannon, LA, and Macon advance to state. Wow. 8AA truly will be loaded next year to say the least. I think the top teams only have one senior each. Upperman will be improved as this year was a down year. Smith Co. will be good and was competitive this year with Hackett. Central Magnet was good all year and upset in the tourney. After next year it might take some reloading, but until then it looks good.
