RegisP90X
Yes i know its March but basketball and baseball dont do it for me! I need some football...talk at least. So I have to ask who are some players to watch for Mr. Football in 2013?
BigOwlFan11
I think Jalen Manning rb for Smith County should be considered a contender .
FootballFan51
The South Pitt RB Lankford won't have to share carries this year and should put up some crazy numbers. He had a breakout Soph year two years ago when Johnson was out, but he had to share carries with Johnson last year. He should be in the conversation. reaction
I look for Boyd Buc QB Jim Cardwell to put up some nice numbers this year. He could slip into this discussion.
RegisP90X
not to be a homer, but I think West Carroll RB Jacob Wynn deserves some consideration pending another big season...Coming off an 1,100+ yard season. But the favorite for class A back will probably be Nick McLilly from Humboldt
wardawg2038
Out of District 14-A I think Nick McLily from Humboldt and Raheem Flowers from Lake Co. Raheem may not put up the numbers due to sharing the ball with Zay Coleman, Paul Caldwell and others but could be a darkhorse in the race. Lakford from So. Pitt should have a breakout year as well being the man this year. I am sure someone will come out of nowhere and burst on the scene. Heck I am just ready for spring football!! theGURU
Doesn't Cason from Gville return? If so you can expect him to be a front runner.
Warrior918
You can't keep Blake Zeman from Marion County out of the discussion. He had 1900 plus rushing last year with over 20 TD's as a sophomore.
theGURU
Who won it last year?
TheAmbassador
Who won it last year? McKamey from Grace Christian won it. He was a good player, but that one still has me scratching my head.
tpay
McKamey from Grace Christian won it. He was a good player, but that one still has me scratching my head. no disrepect toward him but you know why he won
gcapride
no disrepect toward him but you know why he won Don't start that stuff. McKamey won it because he met all of the criteria and ran circles around the other finalists in GPA, ACT, and citizenship (community service). All of which are major factors in the vote. Those were the same reasons Davis Frank won it several years ago, also from GCA. You guys need to understand that this award is given based on more than just play on the field. One voter I spoke with said actual play and numbers on the field are a small part of what he looks for when submitting his vote for Mr. Football. He considers grades and civic duty just as much as he does statistics on the field. Right or wrong, that's the way it is.
