She's been to the glass house each year she's been coaching there, so she must be doing something right! (I'm pretty use she has, anyways. Wasn't the year they won gold her first season?)

 

Yes.... Lake Co. is just like UC, Humboldt, Middleton etc.... put a good coach with them and they're a state champion contender every year. I'm not saying UC, Humboldt, Middleton don't have good coaches, just saying they're always in the hunt every year for a state championship.

Watertown's guy may be 6'8, but if LC runs like they are capable in the 4th he may only be 5'11 because he will be bent over with his hands on his knees.

I was moreso referring to the person who "didn't agree" with a woman coach. But yeah, in boys basketball, the West is where the agent lies most of the time.

Topper06, why you have a problem with a woman coaching boys basketball? If a person can coach they can coach, bottomline. No one seems to have a problem with men coaching women's basketball. Or most people don't have a problem with women being teachers and teaching both boys and girls. So would love to hear the reason you feel a woman should not coach a boy's team.

Topper would also like to say this is in reference to your class A comments, Yeah this is class A and ALOT of people care that is why they will be more fans and community support for the class A games than many of the others in AA or AAA but hey if you don't care feel free to not post in the Single A threads anymore.

Traditionally speaking class A often brings as big if not bigger crowds than AA and AAA... This year will not be the case as AAA will be represented by Brentwood (local team), Dyer County (well traveling fanbase), Blackman (local team with chance of winning it all), and Siegel (local team)... I expect the Brentwood/ Blackman game to be near capacity due to local fans... Siegel has a decent shot of making the finals as they are in the weaker side of the bracket, and if Blackman makes it to the finals and all Murfreesboro final would pack the gym...

 

But back to class A material...

 

I'll take Watertown in this game... Lake County has experience and will have to jump out early to win... I have seen Lake County play this year, but I have not seen Watertown this year...

 

Lake County is very drive oriented and does not look to shoot outside much at all... I believe Watertown has enough talent on the offensive end of the floor to score and if they go zone and pack the middle on defense(i.e. basically mimic what PC did to a better LC team last year) they should win... If Watertown starts out man on Lake county, LC could build a lead and not let it go...

wardawg...not saying she isn't a good coach...her record speaks for itself...just old fashioned i guess...and many times i see this as some sort of "publicity stunt"...i wish her well. look when there was all this talk a few years ago about pat coaching the mens team at ut i thought it the worst thing imaginable...and i think pat summit is the greatest coach ever in the womens game...

Topper06, the ole fashioned statement says enough for me. Guess all the women should stay quiet and ride in the backseat of the car as well??LOL I was opposite on The Coach Summitt thing I was hoping she would take over the men's program. Heck I think she would have done well. Anyway, It is a philosophical issue I see so we will just agree to disagree. Mr. TSSAA I don't see Watertown playing zone and packing it in, I keep hearing they are a man to man team that likes to play uptempo and press some. That excites me about our match-up with them. Lake Co. is not a great 3 point shooting team BUT has had some players make some key jumpers in big games. In the substate win Dominique Kimble knocked down 4 big 3-pointers and Zay hit 2 big 3's in OT. So even though they don't shoot it great they do have the capability to get it done. I do think you gave a good unbiased assessment of LC but I hope you are wrong on the outcome and my Falcons continue on!!

I saw them beat Westwood a couple of years ago in the substate at Westwood. Got to admit I might be a bit stuck in the mud on the women coaching guys thing as well plus I was good friends with Jimmy Whitby and thought he got a raw deal. This lady can coach and based on what I saw 2 years ago has the total respect of her players. Her coaching abilities are 2nd to none.

      Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.

      I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.

      Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
