With him having no loses yet and a bye, others will have loses and knock each other out with only 5 dropping it down to 4.

Based on the way the brackets set-up there is at least one scenario where Murphy could miss out on placing... he isn't guaranteed as of right now.

Just to show you. Right now we have the following wrestlers left:

12 - 1 lose

18 - 0 loses

30 - 0 loses and the bye

48 - 0 loses

54 - 0 loses

Lets assume that 12 beats 18 and 48 beats 54.

So we now have

12 - 1 lose

18 - 1 lose (get the bye this round)

30 - 0 loses

48 - 0 loses

54 - 1 loses

The next rounds pairings would be:

30 vs 54 and 48 vs 12 with 18 on the bye.

Now lets assume the following results:

54 over 30

12 over 48

Now we have the following remaining

12 - 1 lose (gets the bye this round)

18 - 1 lose

30 - 1 lose

48 - 1 lose

54 - 1 lose

You still have 5 left and everyone on a lose

Next round pairings would have the following matches:

12 gets the bye

18 vs 54

30 vs 48

In this round two are going to go out and one of them will earn AA status and it will come down to tiebreak criteria. Assume 30 (Murphy) loses here and 54 loses. 54 would place based on the head-to-head win over 30.

That is one scenario where Murphy would not place. Like I said before there are a lot more scenarios where Murphy places than where he doesn't, but at this point it isn't guaranteed.

Without doing the heavy math, it looks like with that last win Chris Debien has put himself into a similar situation as Murphy. I don't think he is guaranteed yet but he is very close. 5 guys left, 2 with a lose (1 has the bye this round) and Chris is still undefeated.

Chris next wrestles another undefeated in Drake Foster of Idaho. If he can win that one I believe he is in the guaranteed AA spot.

Muprhy took a lose to a very tough Dylan Duncan of IL (have seen him lots of times on the kids circuit). Wrestles against a kid from IA next, a lose would put him in the 7th/8th match whereas a win keeps him in the round robin.

Debien defeated Kraus of WI and is still undefeated and guaranteed a top 3 in his pool (6 overall). Debien is into the Round Robin with 1 match left to win and he is in the finals. He has Ethan Karsten of MO who already has a lose to Kraus who Chris just beat.
