RUNNING THE SCORE UP...2013 Edition

I would welcome a split from TSSAA, which is what would happen if they force a public only division. And it is about economics. The travel costs for schools like ND, Boyd, Silverdale, Grace, CPA, CCS would bankrupt the schools. Having sports is great of course but not worth raising tuition to where a middle class person couldn't afford it.

Kaz; I really do hate that your daughters  season did not finish a week or 2 later than you would have liked (assuming  that you are a very demoralized father of a daughter who's team just did not get it done in the end)

Tell ole' Booger what division we need to put Ripley in; to kind of help them along and just give them a WIN; not a District Trophy? In the last 4 years I think they are 0 - 36 w/ a scoring record of 27 For - 290 Against....That is darn near a 0 - 11 avg/ game score on that team :o  :o  :o ....Now to Booger; that is just downright unfair.....no PUBS involved in the selfish and constant beat down of this team either... ..do we need to kick the other teams in their district out to another division; just because they are not getting it done yet.....C'mon KAZ; solve this issue with Ripley for us.... :popcorneater:

.....we get close every year and have fortunately won a few; and for the most part it has been the same couple of teams that have sent us packin every year (actually it is ourselves that send us packing); but you do not see us on here pointing fingers at our opponent for out-working us, out playing us, or maybe even out coaching us.....the system of sobbing ourselves to sleep every night on the fact that there will always be Titans; and then there is the rest......or shall I say there are Barracudas and then there are Flounders.....C'mon Man!

Boog.....your funnier that spam in a pan. :roflol: Demoralized I'm not though.....I'm certain you feel that way because maybe you think I'm the enemy.  Truth is I'm of very little danger to you or any other private school.  I wield no power with our existing ruling body nor do I have a seat at the table.  I can't tell you what to do with dear old Ripley any more than you can.  You know if they can't get by a PUB, then I suppose you have a whale of a struggle to keep their Private School opponents from hanging two touchdowns on them. I guess dear old Ripley needs to buck the rules and get out there and recruit themselves some players.....works for some schools in A-AA. :thumb: Not a ton of Titans.....but that pair in Knoxville is downright "sharky".  Better not chum the waters Boog, you might think your a "Flounder" after a while.  C'mon Man!

I guess if you ever get put in your own division.....you must fear being a little fish, huh?

Ole' Kazanity :o

Ya think.....?  The only reason you think your argument holds water is because your having it in the girl's soccer forum...! :roflol: Your point sounds like all privates are barracudas.....and all Pubs are flounders...?  If your so clear on the distinction why aren't the barracudas playing barracudas and the flounders playing flounders. (same set of teeth!!!!)  Sheesh.....thats a big gun ya got there.

Maybe I misunderstood you post, but are you saying you would welcome a split even though it would bankrupt the schools.

Yeah, those dang publics like Franklin, Brentwood, Ravenwood, Hendersonville and Clarksville don't have a chance to make it in the soccer world.  Oh yeah, by the way, we got put out this weekend by one of those dang ole' Memphis private schools, and yeah it was my senior daughter's last high school game, and yeah she never won her one of those high school State Championships, But you know what, she had a wonderful career with a great group of girls and a fabulous coach!!  We won't point fingers at anybody else and the team will work hard and try again next year to get that coveted Championship.  Good luck to the rest of you guys that still have a dog in the fight!!!

Your a hoot I22.....all of those schools you mentioned are in the AAA classification.  Most of them have a "better" chance of competing because they draw players from a larger student population.  If you find 5 or 6 really solid players from a student enrollment of say 300....then it stands to reason that if your enrollment is 900, your going to probably double that number.  Private Schools are able to get sport specific kids into their schools while keeping their enrollment # low enough to stay in a small division.  Don't kid yourself into thinking administrators don't look at their numbers and do the math around the time TSSAA does their divisions.  I even heard a AD from a Private School actually speak of doing this. (he has scince been fired)

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
