2014 TNAAU Regions & State

Looking at the TNAAU schedule, it appears that Region 4 & 5 regions are being held March 8th with the TNAAU state tournament being held March 15th. With these dates in mind, I wonder how many schools/teams will also be on spring break during these dates? Would the TNAAU regions and state tournament be a hinderence in getting good numbers at these tournaments if the kids are on spring break?

The problem is there are multiple school districts across the state and there is no set date for all to be on spring break at the same time. We also have to wait until the high school season is over. On top if that we have to wait until the middle schools that are members of the tmssaa finish their season before we can have the regional tournaments. In order to get done with the season before baseball gets into full swing this is the only weekend available unfortunately. With so many variables to try and plan around it will never be the perfect date for everyone.

The 6th Annual Bristol Brawl will be held on SUNDAY January 5th at Bristol's Viking Hall.  We will run 6-8 mats (depending on turnout) live on trackwrestling.

As always we have the best custom awards and medals packages around.  Ask anyone--our 1st place medals are a custom 5x7 with the tournament logo.

We ONLY use TSSAA or VHSL certified refs--no high schoolers, college kids, or kid's parents as referees!!

We normally draw wrestlers from all the surrounding states including TN, VA, NC, SC, KY, WV, GA, and have had wrestlers/clubs from PA, MD, & OH.  The competition level is stiff--come ready to wrestle, you will earn your hardward at the Bristol Brawl.

No cards or membership required.  K-8th grades.  Divisions based on birth year.  Double elimination brackets for groups of 6 or more.  Medals to top 4.

Stadium style seating for 6500 in our city's civic center.

More information to be posted soon on vikingswrestlingclub.com

Questions email:  Tournament Director, Tim Marshall  tmarshall7@btes.tv

Coach,

What are you feeding your son?   I see that he is wrestling 170 lbs. at the Super 32.  He wrestled 138 lbs. last year.  He must be huge!!!!!  Is it the water????  lol.

Good luck.  Bring back some hardware.

He is finally healthy for the first time in years and eating everything in site and living in the weight room ! In all seriousness he probably wont wrestle 170 at the super32, I signed up at the last minute and didnt know what weight he wanted to go. He got up to 177 a few weeks ago but has cut down a little as of late. Although 152 and 160 is loaded so he might be have better luck being an undersized 170 lber, lol.
