crawdad
What's at stake: Big 7 conference championship, a chance to side step Maryville until the finals of Quad 1, and a chance to continue or end a very long winning streak in this series for D-B. Coach Clark has done a great job of getting the most out of his squad through a tough schedule and injuries to key players. Coach Carter likewise has seen his squad suffer multiple injuries from recent games against state powerhouses Siegel and Brentwood Academy. The Indians have found a way to win in thrilling last minute fashion, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. The Toppers are currently spewing oil and struggling to regain early season form. Sonny Moore has it rated dead even in the computer ratings. Toppers plus McGue and others, D-B minus Casey or at least less than full speed, but D-B at home and with the confidence of the winning streak: I'll go with the Indians by 3 on a drive in the last minute. Should be a great game. I'll be listening while I watch the Rebels battle the Cyclones. Best of luck to both teams for an injury free, exciting conference championship game. tennesseestud2013
All I know is, everyone better be there early because it is for all the marbles. If South and Elizabethton was on a different night, I would check it out or vice versa.. Anyhow, best wishes to South and Elizabethton in the playoffs. Also, for Science Hill in the playoffs only if they are not playing us in the 3 vs 6 game in Quadrant 1, lol.

AlumnI01
This should be another good game. The Toppers are getting healthy and looked very close to their early season form tonight against Boone. After returning from injury against Volunteer last week, QB Malik McGue didn't exactly play very well. However, tonight against Boone, he looked very much like the McGue everyone saw before the injury vs Brentwood Academy. He was running and passing well vs the Blazers. Hopefully the Toppers can stay healthy as they practice next week and prepare for the big game. As far as I've heard, everyone will be back for SH next week except for WR/S Malik Stephens. He had season-ending surgery on his shoulder the other day. That's a tough blow for the Toppers seeing as he is arguably their biggest threat at WR but with the return of Mikey White tonight, as well as the recent positive play of Marcus Patton and Elijah Mathes, the passing attack should be fine. Run game is more than ok with a great stable of backs. Off/Def lines are going to have to limit penalties(they had too many tonight). Secondary is going to have to play well. They have really been the only weakness on the team this year. They're getting better but they've really got to step up next week. bud
This game is obviously important, but this year feels like much less hype. Both teams are down from last year. Both teams have losses, last year both were undefeated to this point. Both teams dominated their first 9 regular season games (minus that 2012 Betsy vs SH game which was a bit close towards the end). I think there will be a huge crowd, but I doubt it will be like last year. One way to tell though.....last year at one point the baseball stadium was about 95% full, I had never seen that. Either way, this game should be close.

The way this year has been going for the both teams, there is no telling what will happen, think it will be close either way, but watch it not be a close game either way. If this game was used as a betting game for Vegas... I promising you I would not bet on it, lol,....
blazer1set
Lots of good talking points on this one so far, but nobody has picked a score. So lets get that started. This one will be a thriller to the very end. Hard fought game on both sides. But alas the streak (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtzoUu7w-YM) comes to an end Science Hill 38 DB

voltnh
Hoping for a quality game like last year, although I have no idea what will actually transpire Friday night. It may be a close game, it may be blowout....who knows. Aside from the streak, I'm sure both squads would like to avoid playing Maryville in the second round...
