pioneers unless they lose focus, cumberland county is really struggling this year and wc definitely has more athletes, penalties, mistakes and turnovers will loom large  in this game, it is always good to win the final game of the year, good jumping off point for next year and the weight room, the key is coming back with a plan of what they are going to do on offense and defense, kids feed off of consistency

I would think that the only way coach johnson is not back is if he chooses not to be, seems to be well liked by the kids and administration, hardest part of being a young coach is to figure out what they want to do on offense and defense and then commit to that philosophy so you are not starting over each year, it is ok to make mistakes but it is important to try and avoid making the same mistakes over year in and year out

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
