I am just saying if a coach doesn't want to run up the score, he won't!

So if a third string RB scores a 50 yard TD with the 2nd string line it's the coaches fault? If the coach calls a play with the back ups in like a dive or toss it's the defense job to stop it. Do you suggest teams just knee it the whole 2nd half with a running clock? What good does that do the backups? They practice every day like the starters and derserve the chance to make a play.

I'm not on here to argue with you. I figured out a long time ago, when you have bested a fool, you have done nothing. Good luck to ya.

I am saying don't run the score up.

I agree... Drive it to the 2 yard line and take a knee for 4 downs. Do this for 3 quarters and they will appreciate the gesture of 6-7  touchdowns sacrificed so that they can punt from their end zone 6-7 more times once they cant move the ball. This will make them feel great being able to keep the score close. If the starters cant tackle 3rd & 4th string skill players, you can expect them to practice laying down. 70 points is a lot to score with a running clock, but it is also admirable when your drives are usually 3 plays max and you didn't run the score up to 92 with three more TDs. This sounds arrogant and cocky, but if your not there to see the games... realize that maybe the hype is true and these teams are that good.

Last Friday, Unicoi had negative yards in the first half and 15 yards total for the game of passing and rushing. This same logic should be applied to defenses as well. Just like dad in the back yard... "Honey, let them score some points so they wont feel bad". It seems only fair that if you get onto the offense for scoring too much, its a matter of time before someone starts arguing how a team that can't score gets on the bus and realizes their defense shut us down on purpose and wouldn't let us score... even in the 4th quarter! Just wait... It's on the horizon!

No one should run up the score with their starters in the game by the 4th quarter.... but for the guys that stand on the sidelines for 3 quarters watching and hoping for the chance to play, don't expect them to play at half speed.

It is pretty obvious that you guys stood on the sidelines alot during your career.
