#3 ranked in the state Kevin Knier at 113 lost 21-6 to Dylan Coggins on the 23rd. Coggins also has a win over Shelton of Springfield 3-2 or 3-1. I know he isn't in our region but he is one to watch with impressive wins over these 2 wrestlers in our region.

I was surprise to see Dylan switch over to Stewart's Creek, but Coach Gonyea can duo wonders with those lighter weights! Also, there is a brother who wrestles there around 138.

I didn't want to say until after weigh-ins, but the answer is no,,,, practice just started for the Blackman football/wrestlers for obvious reasons. Also, Jesse Escue will not be wrestling. Just the 108, 120, 126, 132, 138, & 152 should be worth the price of admission however. Not sure where Brobeck will be... 145?

too many holes for blackman to compete this evening but garrison binns had a great match as did small and Bam Bam this evening...

Wilson central dominates! Overton very strong against blackman featuring a very strong match up at 138. Too many FF's due to injuries & others in football condition on the blaze

As we make the turn for the second half of season and move forward to the District duals and Region Duals, It will be a very exciting time for Region 7. In the meantime Region 7 has been doing very well. Ryan tournament (2 teams in top 5), Stewarts Creek Tournament (2 teams in top 3) and the West Creek Duals Top 2  Going to be some very serious battles just to go to the state this year... both in duals and individuals.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
