hsfootballfan777
The Basketball Team is doing GREAT without her.Talk about the girls who stuck with the program and are pouring their hearts into the program.Cheyenne has decided not to play which is fine but she doesn't need in her name in the paper every game or any game for that matter for a team she chose NOT to play for.She gets more press than the girls who are on the team and doesn't deserve it.The same thing happened with a kid a few years ago who quit Football to play baseball. blitzinbuc
I think Kelsey Naler is doing an exceptional job filling that spot!

EBTHER
The team has not played a opponent with a strong inside game yet. That will be the game that will tell the tale of how successfull they will be with out her. Naler is doing a fine job in her place but is not as aggressive on defense as Hooper was. Cheyenne had 188 blocks last season, that aspect of her game will be sorely missed. Oh and FYI, Dont make it sound as if she just left the team high and dry and doesnt care about her fellow friends and teammates. She was going to play this year but her club volleyball schedule would not allow for it. She is on the roster but there is little chance you will see her in the 52 Jersey this year. She is commited to getting better as a future collegate volleyball player. Yes she does get a lot of press for not playing but when you 6'6" tall and you forgoe playing basketball for your highschool team, unfortunatly that is big news. Give it a while and it will die down as the team wins without her. If Grainger Cnty beats them this year because Allison Hodges takes it to the rim about 20 times you will hear her name again. Cody
They play McMinn Central tomorrow night at CAK. Should be a good game.
wbbwatcher
I will miss seeing Cheyenne play basketball. I felt she was a big time player. Just like Madelyn Hutson at Ravenwood. Would have loved to see how good they both could have become.
EBTHER
WB keep watching her. She is almost a better volleyball player than she was a basketball player. Cant wait to follow her as she plays thru college. She is committed to play for the University of Central Florida. that is an up and coming program as is there football team is. she should have a nice career there. wingman10
How is Ms Hooper doing?
Cody
McMinn Central beats CAK tonight 64-52. It was a fun game to watch. Both teams looked really good. I'd never seen CAK play before. Anna Hammaker is a heck of a player.
EBTHER
UH OH! CAK lost and it would not suprise me if they mentioned Hooper in the paper again and the lack of her presence on the court probably contributed to the loss. That wont make Footballfan very happy. Wing I think Hooper is doing well. Her parents say she is working out everyday with her club. I saw her at the game last night and she looked a little uncomfortable watching her team lose, knowing that if she played they win that game. The Warriors are going to have to pull it together and give Hammaker some help. She is good but she cant win games by herself.
coachh17
CAK was a state tournament team last year that made the semi-finals. Expectations across the state were that they could be a serious gold ball contender this year. They still are, but the ifs, ands, and buts concerning Hooper's absence from the team will last all year; especially when they lose. She had every right to make the decision not to play and to work on her volleyball and likely knew her decision would be publically scrutinized. Life is about choices. Hammaker is a great player and there are other talented kids on the roster that might still bring a gold ball to Knoxville. However, it is hard to underestimate how Hooper's mere presence in the lineup impacted games. At 6'6" tall, Hooper completely controlled the area in front of the rim. She altered as many shots as she blocked and that is hard to replace. It is just human nature to evaluate every game this season by starting with.....What if we still had Hooper playing? We will see how they do against Grainger and Science Hill in the next two weeks. That should be a good guage of where they are. I would say to just ignore the speculation and second guessing as best you can and focus on your team, not what the press and other fans are doing. NotThatItMatters
Surprised by the CAK/McMinn Central score. I thought CAK would win this one by 15+. Anyone there that can provide insight to what happened?
