Alcoa v. CPA 3A Championship

Recommended Posts

Alcoa 49 Catholic 7

Fulton 41 Catholic 34

Alcoa and West would have added TWO "L" to the black birds. Fact!

I agree 100% and have said it all year dating back to when Fulton fans were screaming "Alcoa is scared". That argument looks insane now.

For the person who said Fulton would have beaten Maryville........you need to get your head examined!

As for this one.....CPA is the midstate team so I'll pull for them but it is a bad matchup against an opponent that is just great in all phases of the game.

I've been watching film of Alcoa this year and their OL looks a little on the small side, but film can be deceiving. Any one know what the average ht/wt of the OL is?

Approximately 5'2", 95 lbs.  :)

No wonder they can't block. Thanks.

So, the OL really is that small?  You have no one over 6' 2" ??

Alcoa just too small to compete with CPA's big strong DI talented defensive line................<sigh>.

might a been another L on the blackbirds if Alcoe had not backed out. I guess they choose their battles when they have the  upper hand. Fulton will be down next year so I guess Alcoe will want to play then..

Don't forget West. Black birds could never beat them either. Seem "odd" both teams that Fulton could not beat in the past where removed from their schedule....................just say'in.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
