Without Murphy & huge upset of Canada

I wouldn't consider Simpson over Canada at 126 as a huge upset. Maybe Wesnofske over Powell at 132 who was beating him before he got pinned.

Ryan came to wrestle and Baylor looked a little sluggish. The reffing was embarrassing. It'll be interesting to see this match in one month with 106, 112 (if Murphy), 132, and 152 being crucial swing matches.

I just read the write up on the Baylor/FR dual. Four stalling points at 152 to determine the match? I didn't see the match but that is very hard to imagine. I'm pretty sure that won't happen again.

I didn't see the Match, but have been watching Southerland for years and have not seen him Stall. Was someone else at 152?

In over 30 years in the sport I have never seen anything like the 152 lb match.

Ref Carlos needs to let the wrestlers decide the outcome in the matches not him. Refs are suppose to control the match and protect the wrestlers. He has decided who wins last weekend and tonight to many times. Let the wrestlers determine the outcome not you Carlos. This is a wrestling fan very disappointed with Carlos' refereeing.

He called stalling more times in the FR v Baylor match that I have ever seen in a dual match.

The 152 lb match was #1 vs #2 and neither kid stalled once.  There is a big difference between stalling and not creating unnecessary action that places you in bad position just to appease a ref.   I watched it online but if I was there it would have been the last match I would have seen of the night because I would probably have been tossed out of the gym.

He also called stalling way too many times in the heavy weight matches.  As a ref - you cant demand the same action from HWTs that you do from 130 pounders.

    • Starting to pick up for Sam. He has 4 or 5 offers now and more on the way. By mid season the Warriors should have 5 or 6 kids with offers.
    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
