Heard that TSSAA is finally looking to Knox Catholic..  Players being funded by the church or their tuition waived due to family hardships.  Sounds like players are going to be ruled ineligible next season or could result in a move to the financial aid division.  If it is happening, hope they correct it!  Feel sorry for the players and families that lose a season though...!

Why would you feel sorry for them?  Do you not think that they knew they were breaking the rules?

Well this will be fun. Anybody who follows high school football in the Knoxville area and the 8th grade football scene knows what Knox Catholic has been doing since Coach Matthews was hired. My next question would be... What about the players that want to transfer out if some sort of sanctions are laid out? Would they be immediately eligible at another school? I don't want the kids to miss a year of playing because of some adults with money and power (boosters) trying to bend the rules with under the table stuff. But as of now it's just hear say. I'm getting ahead of myself. I will be following this topic very closely.

So tell us what the Irish have been doing? What's your connection into this? If you're going to make accusations then please back it up?

OPINION : All privates recruit it is the nature of their business. They have to recruit to get students because they have no students specifically zoned for their schools. Evidence found in newspaper ads, open houses, flyers sent to private residence etc. Some offer illegal incentives to get students and student athletes. Some adults want to feel important, live vicariously through high school sports etc... Just the nature of the beast. Grace got caught and got punished. If other privates get caught they will get punished. IMO the best solution is for privates to have a different association and may the riches school win. But to say they don't recruit isn't accurate.
