D-II Middle/East Region - Top Four Seeds Per Weight

The inaugural TSSAA D-II Middle/East region wrestling tournament is Friday at Baylor School starting at noon.

 

The top six in each weight class advance to the state tournament, Feb 14-15 at the Williamson County Ag Center in Franklin.

State Champions: several state champions are in the field, including Michael Murphy (113, Baylor), Adam Connell (138, McCallie), Bryson Popp (160, Baylor), Ryan Parker (182, Baylor) Nathan Hoodenpyle (182, McCallie School)

 

Not Competing: Baylor's Tate Robinson (138) will not compete this weekend nor in the state tournament. Baylor officials said that he is no longer a member of the team. Robinson won a state title for Christian Bros.in 2011.

What happened with Tate Robinson? That's the second private school team he has been dismissed from.

Word on the street is that Simpson was running to Tate.  Where is Tate?  Is he running?  Is he avoiding him?  Was the last match between Simpson and Sutherland a fluke?

If he was running to Tate then he didn't run far enough to make 138 obviously.

I was looking forward to a Adam and Tate finals or the next 2 weeks.  Tate will not be there and do not understand why.  This was the most anticipated match of the year.  Hate to see that it will not occur.  Did Tate run from Adam?  GBR, you are asking this question on another match, so please help us with this.

He ran far enough.  Had he run to 138 as you suggested, he would not have run far enough.

Both matches between these two where won off bad calls Simpson won the first time off a bad stalling call and Sutherland won the second match because of the young Chattanooga ref who was to much a nooga fan to make the right call
