Class A Eight for State (Prediction Time)

As District play is winding down, it's coming clear on which teams will be involved in Region play and a chance for state, so for fun pick the eight teams you think will be in the 'Boro in two weeks:

Region 1 & 2 Contenders--- North Greene, Midway, Oneida, Knox Grace, & Meigs Co.

 

Region 3 & 4 Contenders--- Goodpasture, Clarkrange, South Pittsburg, Boyd Buchanan, Silverdale, Whitwell, & Watertown

 

Region 5 & 6 Contenders--- Community, Forrest, Cornersville, Summertown, Columbia Academy, Nashville Christian, Loretto, Clarksville Academy

 

Region 7 & 8 Contenders--- Peabody, Mckenzie, Jackson Christian, Decatur Riverside, Halls (West Tn.), Gibson Co., Mitchell, Scotts Hill

 

Reminder two from each list make it to the 'Boro. and tell us why.

Reg 7/8 - Hall(west) & Jackson Christian

For the most part private schools rule in 1A baseball. I didn't realize that Goodpasture was now 1A. That spells trouble for the rest of the teams. They have no business in 1A. Geez! Goodluck with that.

Please remind me how we get from 32 (2 per district) down to the final 8.

Is the Region a double elimination tourney (like District), or is it win or go home?

I know how basketball & wrestling works, but I forget about baseball.

Monday is Single elimination which takes you to 16, then on Wednesday you play for a region championship with both teams coming back for a game on Friday against another region for another single elimination which gets you to 8 for the 'Boro.

I really don't think it was an upset. The night before Jackson Co beat them 12-1.
