Distrct 11-AAA in 2014

Recommended Posts

They did pretty good from what I saw. They will no doubt be improved, but I dont know how much that will show in the win-loss column. Even their non-district schedule is pretty tough for an established school, much less a new program

They play two 11-AAA schools, one good and one bad. That will give us an idea on where Stweie is.

Centennial has always had talent. When Rector arrived is when he did something with the talent and won. This is the first year in a while that their fanbase hasn't been all over these message boards saying that they will win district and have a chance to go to state. However, if they can turn either Roth or Conner Rietveld into a great QB then the sky is the limit for this team. Maybe not state, but they could contend for a district title.

Centennial has not always had talent.  Enrollment was decimated when Indy opened and dropped to around 1200.  2008 was a good year due to a senior laden OL, Drew Kelly coming back to football and speed to burn with Scales, Jackson and Kemp.  That class graduated and with the same coaching staff, they go a combined 3-17 over the next two years.  Nick Saban would have had trouble going .500 with some of those teams.

Rector is a good coach, changed the culture and gets a lot out of his players.  At the same time, he hit the transfer lottery with Tomlin and Sanders.  Without Tomlin, they struggled last year, even with an SEC caliber receiver in Hall. If the passing game doesn't improve this year, teams will stack the box to stop Sanders and the offense will sputter.
