The gates will be open way earlier than 5:30 like that idiot BCSportsfan said. The Middle School game starts at 5pm so gates should be open at the latest 4pm.

If you folks from Smiff Co (that want to allege recruiting and open zone all the time) want to see where it all starts at Alcoa, come see the middle school play some ball...they have a bit of an, uh....reputation.

I myself was interested in Alcoa's Middle School. After researching I was shocked that they out scored their opponents last year 394-33, and Maryville Middle scored 22 of those. Sounds like Alcoa High has a great feeder program. I was wondering does Rankin have much say in the Middle School program or does he leave them alone and let them do their own things?

I hope they let you stick around. Let us know what you think of the new turf, brick press box, and new walkway in front of the home stands. I hoped the JumboTron would be ready so we could post that picture of UpperCucumberMan during the "nope that wasn't me" segment. That would be classic...,

Bahaha! It wasn't me!!

Tell ya what there tumblebug, Alcoa will probably need a game in their schedule next year. Reach down, check to see what you got, and ease on up there. Show us all how it's done.

and I bet coach still has "juice" at the top of his list on best running backs he has coached. Didn't Willie White play at SC with Scott for a couple years before Willie went to TnTech? He was another great back.

Willie was a sr.on the 85 semi team and graduated in 86. Juice won it in 88.  ( I think).

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
