I don't think summertown has the -football athletes- to be serious contenders in that amount of time.  As far as I know (which could be so far off its not funny)  but they do not have peewee type presence, or a long standing middle school program, all of these things are building blocks for success for high school football.

**maybe they have all things things, then maybe they will contend soon.....enlighten me!

They have been in youth football for 5 or 6 years and middle school for about 3 I think.

regardless its good for everyone around, adds another team to the general area, so less travel for all.I agree, love the twenty or so minute drive. Their jv has struggled somewhat but that's to be expected, that's probably why they pushed the varsity season back another year. I know my son was really wanting to play them this year with him being a senior but what can you do. Maybe he will see some jv action!

How good has their JV team been?

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
