Mr 87 i didnt get to go last week. But my buddy told that they better get the o going. Not to going to question Coach Reid but just dont think the wingt is going to work. The Vikes need to go back to power football but thats my imo. Humboldt's defense will keep them in the game. But the o has to get going to win this one.

The same as the Dogs posters were last week u only had 5or 6 posters all week. Dont get to happy to beat a banged up Tiger team. I have a cousin that lives in Lexington and he told me the Tigers had 4 starters out including Tisdale the best back they have. No i dont think Humboldt will win Friday unless the o gets in gear!

In all due respect, if you read my posts on the Lexington thread as you indicated you did, you must have noticed where I said that game wasn't a good indication of how good milan would be and we needed to wait and see how the next couple of games went.

I also responded to people on this thread who said we would mercy rule you guys by saying it wouldn't happen and that it would be a good game even though I thought we would win.

Rivalry might make it a game but I think Milan will make a point most of the season.  BigPurple I agree even if stangs were to lose to milan this year there will be no mercy rule.  We dont usually lie down when we play milan.  Where are the bulldog fans at thought there would be more of them on this board esp being a rivalry game.  Guess they'll show up later in season.

milan will win this game...it most likely wont be close

HOWEVER!!! milan is not the milan of old just yet...milan just recovers faster than others...humboldt is this year what milan was last year...

enjoy the season and make some more noise...dburg is still the top team in this district...especially if the word on westview losing players is true

No diserspectment meant i agree . Humboldt has alot of work to do on offense it must improve fast before Friday to kept it close for 3 quarters to have a chance at a win.

I love my Vikings, but there has to be some change on the Offensive side.  I didn't see a single pass in the 2nd half.  You CANNOT do that against Milan. They will stack the box and stop us for a loss every play.

I am not sold on the WingT offense for the Vikes.  We are fast and the WingT doesn't give us the option to get to the corner very much when we run over the tackle every play.  I am hoping that we make adjustments this week and play like we are capable Friday!

Go Vikes!

I agree, I would rather see Humboldt in a spread offense with some passing even if they are going to run the ball because they will not beat Milan by just running the ball. Milan will be to good & big just to try & line up and run the entire game, I hope Coach Reed has something up his sleeve because Milan will be looking for revenge from last year lose.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
