Mount Juliet vs Blackman

MJ will give Blackman a much better game than most people think.

Bears will have to limit big plays to less than 3 and get Blackman to turn ball over 3-4 times.

It will be important to limit Blaze on first and second down and force them into third and long and get off the field. Must pressure Jennings and keep him in the pocket.

Offense must be efficient and take advantage of opportunities. Ball control is a must to shorten the game. Must keep Jennings and company off the field.

Special teams need to be special and come up with 1-2 big plays.

This asking for a lot; but it can be done.

Let's go Bears......shock the world !

This is a potential 6A Championship Preview

Blackman Blaze 50, Mount Juliet Golden Bears 49

I would not be shocked if they met again in the Playoffs!

Their AAA Girls Basketball state Semifinal meeting was great!

This could be even better!

I would not want to play either team in the 6A Playoffs, especially if I have to go their place! =)

I understand Blackman is a big favorite! However, let's not act ignorant as if Blackman is just playing an average team. Wouldn't expect too many humble Blackman fans anyways, as if you all have a chance against Maryville or even making it out of the semi's, you may win this game but don't worry there will be no champ ring for your team.

We now have the podcast posted for my show from last week which featured interviews from both Head Coaches (Shadowens and Perry).  Blackman folks may be interested in the Aydelott interview as well.   You can hear those interviews by clicking the link below.  Thanks and good luck to both teams!  No iTunes necessary to listen!

Coach Trey Perry and Coach Phillip Shadowens interviews from last Friday!

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
