8-AA Girls

I am a Cyclone fan and our conference is not real strong but I bet it's fun watching games in 8aa because that conference is loaded with good teams.

Anything can happen in 8AA.They beat up on each other year in and year out. It's very rare that there's not a D8AA team in the  glass house. Sometimes two.

I'm surprised there not wore out after the regular season.

I guess the better teams in 8aa are just use to it since its a year after year thing.

They rest after the season until the end of the school year. The dedicated kids spend, as much as allowed, in a gym in the summer time.

There are limited times (team camps) that coaches can work with their teams in the summer, but the kids play with AAU and other organizations to get gym time. The magic words are GYM TIME.

To be good it takes a lot of practice and dedication.

The best coaches in 8aa, 7a and 6aaa, stress defence.

Someone mentioned the full court press. All the teams use the press, but I think La is  the only team with the bench to do it the whole game. Both Central Mag. and Cannon Co. beat the press well.
