While I don't condone bottle throwing, you forgot the rest of the story.

 

Like how many bottles were thrown?.....1.

 

What instigated the bottle being thrown?.....DB players leaving their practice area to come to the visitor side fence to taunt, jump around like a bunch of idiots and harass the visiting fans.

 

Why did the coaches come over?....To grab their players and drag them back where they belong.

Congrads to db band ! Im wondering are they going to be at the hill for this game ! This happens every year for the db football team that gets pumped up by band!! I hope to goodness they will be there each game during postseason aswell!!my understanding is they are going to georgia

 

Wouldn't count on it.

 

In my opinion, being a band hater is just as bad as being a DB hater.  Worse actually.  Because the band haters are some of the DB football fans.  Very sad statement.  Luckily it is only a few.

 

So I did a little research.  The full band plans to come and stay for the whole game Friday night.  "Why", I ask.  Because the band members themselves tend to buck on the idea of leaving early even though it would be for their own good.

 

So the band will be out late and up very early to go to Atlanta (if they don't leave right after the game and head to Atlanta).  These kids were the Grand Champions at one US Bands of America regional championship, the Western Carolina University Tournament of Champions, and the Contest of Champions in Murfreesboro - winning the Tennessee governor's cup - this being essentially the Tennessee state championship for marching band competition.  All of this in 2014 this fall.  They are going to the Atlanta Bands of America Super Regional this weekend and later will go to BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis.   They will be competing at the highest level possible in the United States.

 

As a former DB student from many years ago, and formerly parent of 2 DB students, I am proud of what these kids do. I am proud of how they strive to push the envelope to a higher level every year.  I would think that any real DB fan would feel the same way.  So cheer for the kid Friday night if they get to perform.  Rain is an expensive threat to woodwinds, which is why they can't perform if there is nasty weather.
