Hey 89 has Wayne got the ball exchange problems worked out? How is injury status?

Had zero turnovers last week, not even any fumbles that we recovered ourselves. Injuries are about the same, got Birchette back last week and he did great at linebacker and the way I hear it he's going to be playing guard on offense. 71 Haggard tore his ACL a few weeks ago and was playing with a brace on and last week he tore everything in his other knee, that's a big loss as he will be missed.

Them knee injuries suck. Hate to hear that. Well glad the turnover problems are getting worked out. Hoping y'all make a good run.

Wayne County has a good little club but I can't help but think about the what if's. How good could they have been if we have had  81,42,10,71,53,74 all year and through the playoffs. There may be more because I haven't been to every game. 20/79 Burchett is back but now playing a position that he has never played. 81 has had surgery, 42 has had surgery, 10 is still out and may yet have surgery according to him, 71 will have surgery and a long recovery( bad knee injury from what I hear) We will never know but I know they are still fighting. Good for them and GO CATS.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
