tarp
CCS had a great grass field before they put in the turf. Good luck to ND tomorrow!
DIIA
In Middle Tennessee, I'm going to go with Page, FRA, and maybe Franklin. We're A/AA so I've not seen many of the AAA fields. But it the CCS field until they destroyed it. I do know that it's not Siegel. State finals in May were unacceptable. Lots of green spray paint on dirt on the so-called "championship" field. Playerscoach
Name one place in May that had anything more than dirt?
AAASOCCER
I am going to throw McMinns field in the list. The Club and HS have done an excellent job preserving the field. Grass has looked great all year every year. When some have wanted to reduce funding for field maintenance the majority have remained strong and the field looks great. ballbasher30
There were several fields that had grass last spring. All you had to do was plant winter rye in late September or early October and the field would have been green all spring even with the hard winter we had. As far as fields go three a-aa schools come to mind. Columbia Academy has a great playing surface but the field itself is small. The other is Fairview. Their field is always in great shape in both fall and spring and is one of the larger fields around. But if i had to pick one Lipscomb Academy would be at the top of my list. CA is short but nice and wide. Fairview had a great field too, but they leave those permanent goals in place and the goal mouths are not good. Other than that Fairview has a great field, long and wide and Coach Sizemore and his crew do a great job in maintaining the pitch.
Booger
outside of what used be CCS's before turf replaced it; Walker Valley has my top pick nearest to Chattanooga
Playerscoach
There wasn't a golf course in middle TN that wasn't affected last Spring much less soccer surfaces. In fact, many soccer facilities closed fields. To suggest planting winter rye is all you had to do is not correct. The fluctuation in temps hurt the rye in a big way and caused fields to either stay dormant or not produce at all. It was impossible last spring to find a facility to hold the state tourney that wasn't in bad shape.
Booger
lets face it..the middle tn surfaces are average at best
Tuffnut
Best fields in Middle Tennessee 1. J P II (though I didn't see it this year) 2. Hendersonville 3. Franklin I think a more entertaining topic might be the worst fields you played on this season.
