Sx- that was a kind post, but this team doesn't resemble the '07 team at all

Honestly, my memory isn't the best since the accident, but THE KID is probably better at QB than the '07 QB (who was a great football player). A couple really good wr's on this team too. Who were some standouts on that '07 team?

How is WB going to be at running back in 2015? I think they'll miss that quality back they had last season

Miller is a really small and fast RB... Kind of brings Garner to mind. It will be interesting to see how he does this year.

I respect that opinion, but I'll have to humbly disagree. I think Burstrom (the '07 QB) is the best that's been at WB. Other standouts on offense were Garner at running back, Cope and Cochran at receiver, and a huge O-Line with Madden and Greene. The defense had Lail and Irwin at linebacker, Walker and Gordley on the D-Line, and Burstrom and Cope in the secondary. None of those names probably ring a bell to you guys anymore, and I realize that they weren't the second coming of the '85 Bears. It was a heck of a high school football team, though. And definitely a state championship contender.

Good stuff right there AR. To me, Tyler was one of the best (if not the best) football players and leaders I have ever been around. I cannot say enough good things about having him on a team. But THE KID is a heckova qb though who is cut from a similar cloth. Some really good other players you listed there. Looking at the roster, I may have to admit I am wrong but I will wait to see how the season goes. WB has some very good receivers and a guy who can get the ball to them. I hope they try to spread it around a little more this year.

Reese McMahan was a very good QB at WBHS.  He also deserves consideration as the best. IMHO

They also had a punter (Whitehead) that could boot it 50, 60,or even 70 yards. That was a great team.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
