Thackerson is one of those players that can fit into about any style offense.  He is very athletic, and has a strong gunslinger type of an arm.  I look forward to watching him this fall.  He is one of the areas top QB's and I have him in my top 2.  Many schools are missing out on this young man.

I hope Tennessee or Ga Tech recruits him. Hopefully Butch will give him a chance and sign him.

Love the way he avoid the rush while keeping his eyes down the field. He is dangerous.

 

Out of curiosity, I pulled out the 5-6 yr olds game tapes of years ago. He was good even back then.

Thackerson is too small for top level D1. No way Butch recruits him IMO Great HS QB, but just doesn't have the size to be a major college prospect. MTSU is believable.

Deuce Wallace is the same height as Thackerson, but Deuce out weighs Tyler by about 20-25 lbs. If Deuce can go D1 I believe Thackerson could too. But I think he will go somewhere like MTSU or Tenn Tech.

Deuce also has a stronger arm than Tyler from what I've seen. Again, all my opinions.

I could see Georgia Tech recruiting him because Justin Thomas is pretty much the same size as Tyler Thackerson.

Don't see that happening Dave. While Tyler is athletic he doesn't come over to me as overly athletic. He's great at avoiding the rush, but he doesn't have great speed. I doubt he's looking to be an option QB anyway.

I would say that Thackerson is a lower D1 guy. His height does hurt him some but just being a "player" can make up for that. You never know how things work out...he could end up at somewhere big. It would be good to get to see him go somewhere. He is a special talent.
