  Best thing about that for these local teams is they will only have 4 region games,they can schedule local teams in the 6 outta region games.

We'll know soon enough. The non-conference parley period doesn't last long. Cloudland will most likely keep Avery County, NC on the schedule. If they have to go to North Carolina for another game they will.

It is not even close.  The absolute worst region in all of Tennessee D1 will be Region 8 in 1A.  The 7 schools in that region combined to win 15 games between them this season.  And with this great new (old) playoff system we are going to, four of those teams will make the playoffs.

Well, Cloudland should at least feel they can remain king for the foreseeable future. Seriously, who is going to knock them off. While in 2A Oneida, Coalfield, Greenback, and on good years Sunbright will be fighting it out for the #1 spot. That District #1 is going to have a solid shot at making a good run through the first several rounds. I see Oakdale's side of it too.....I love the games that are going to take place among the big three.

OB.....how many Srs you gonna lose off this years squad?

I would put Midway and Harriman in that conversation before I would Sunbright.

The way the regions are paired off in playoffs, (1vs2, 3vs4, etc), poor Region 8 will seldom (if ever) advance past the first round. I predict clean sweeps almost yearly by Region 7 teams over Reg.8 ones, our worst will whoop their best for a looong time coming (with I'm sure a rare upset, hey, it IS football, where anything can happen!). Lotsa rematches in second round for Region 7. After we leave our Quad though, THEN the competition picks up, big time! Travel time not bad at all for us, but man oh man, lotsa teams & regions will be spending ton$ on travelling, with small away crowds. It is what it is.
