Blount Counties Most Accomplished

The talk around the breakfast table was who do we think is the most accomplished athlete to come out of Blount County. Includes all schools. I'll hang up and listen.

Gotta be Randall Cobb, unless I'm just missing something.

Might surprise you all here but Lynn Swann was from Alcoa before his family moved to California. Cobb has done the most by any standards for sure as far as someone that graduated from a Blount County High School. Best player in modern times at Maryville was Danny Spradlin without a doubt. Other great players were Douglas from Maryville and Mitchell and Williams from Alcoa.

Even though he was not born in Blount County many of us considered him a native. One to consider.

If he's not there already, I would say that Randall is well on his way to claiming this distinction.  You know, Lee was pretty prominent through college with his basketball accomplishments (especially NCAA tournament records he set) but I think Randall is/has put himself on a whole separate "stage" from the rest.
