Single A district champs

12-A is Perry County...I believe they have a 2 game lead and are unbeaten in district play. The district has been really strange this year. Collinwood has struggled and lost a starter yet were able to take down Houston County at the Summertown Christmas tournament. Got to see DCR there as well---another very good team that could factor into region and sub-state. Summertown is playing with a junior and 4 freshmen starters---9 freshmen in all on the team. Been a tough year with the growing pains, but they are gaining experience and will be a team to deal with in a year or two. Loretto got a girl back that was huge on their state tourney team 2 years ago. She started back after Christmas and they are looking better every game. Clifton is mediocre and has put together two nice wins in district play-they could make noise in the district tournament.

They got the Burden girl back? She was a really good player.

Yes, Burden decided to play late. She took last year off to focus on softball. She can make a difference come tournament time as far as getting out of the district or region and making some noise.

Perry County will win 12A going away and may sneak into ta substate game if the chips fall the right way.

13A - West Carroll

14A - Gibson County

15A - Middleton

16A - Booker T. Washington or Memphis Mitchell.. They both still have to play each other twice

B.T.W and Mitchell will only play in the City championship 16A is split in half because their is so many teams

how does the city championship work and when is it? DIstrict 16A is a tough one to figure out because everyone doesn't play everyone else.

The BIG one in 7A is Pickett Co. #9 state vs #2 state Clarkrange at Clarkrange on Friday. PC beat them by 10 at home and were up by 16 at one point. A visitor winning at Clarkrange is pretty rare. The place will be packed. The winner is 7A champion with Jackson Co. 3rd, Clay Co. 4th and Monterey last.

Their only losses this year have been to AAA Bearden, AAA Science Hill, Knoxville Webb in overtime and a Loss at Oliver Springs, always a tough place to win if you know what I mean. Grace should make another good run in tournament play

I think 15A is still to be decided. I know Middleton is undefeated but Riverside is a team to watch. Last time they played Middleton won by 1 point at Riverside. These two teams play tomorrow night at Middleton. Middleton lost Sr player D. Faulkner to an ACL tear the last couple of weeks and Riverside may be able to take advantage. These two will likely meet in the district tournament as well. As a general fan of basketball in the area I wish I could be at this game tomorrow night.

I agree. I do think that Riverside will beat Middleton one time this year... and tomorrow night might be when it happens. There are several very good games in west TN tomorrow night. Middleton/Riverside, South Side/Lexington, Dyersburg/Westview...
