Do you know what was across the road on corner where old bank is now? Knows you is a Youngon

Old two story clapboard building; might have had a sinclair pump out front long ago but then again I might be thinking of the one further up on the hill.  Building was backdrop for a lot of old football team pictures without intending to be.

Tooter Moss car lot was small on a gravel lot with a very small business hut as I recall.  RIP to the man; another local legend gone.

Sue's Snack Bar maybe, Bama Club (hope not). Nohope is happy to admit being to "young" to play that game. Old building I referenced was directly across road from present day softball field. Pics at SP Historical Museum shows it. Still there when I was younger. Old Sinclair station was on top of hill.....

The one on the hill was owned by the Parham Family. Old Pirate ain't sure what ever happened to Wayne Parham a fellow student. Yep Nohope, Sue's Snack bar was the local meet & greet. A feller Buddy Long operated the gas station on the corner. Several houses towards town were torn down and Valley Tire became the local tire recapping store. Long's great grandson played for the Pirates for coach Tim. Tooter had a converted out house for his office across the street. Us fellers back-n-the day had a clean dress code, weren't no britches sagging and butt cheeks showing...unless you were a Plummer. LOPAO......

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
