It's all about blocking and tackling. Since Coach Wise played center, I think he has a pretty good understanding of blocking schemes. With four returning on the OL, I feel pretty good.

Old Pirate says that Walters kid would be a huge addition with a good OL the Eagles got fly high. Edited by OLD PIRATE

based on my trip to the mountain last season with the greene devils and based on what i heard from the fans, this is a welcomed change....ofcourse those same fans are now probably either worried or upset over price quitting......hard to argue with his record

he retired; not quit BVDevevil......the North Red Bank Mountaineers have made that very, very clear

Wouldn't say a "welcomed change", but a change that we all knew would happen one day.  I told him years ago that I would still be cutting the grass after he was gone.  Told three principals and four AD's the same thing. ;)

Guess what?  I'm still here cutting the grass for my Eagles. redthumb.gif

Wouldn't say we'z "worried or upset"; but uneasy, excited, and optimistic.  You're right ... it's hard to argue with CBP's record.  He's a winner and the foundation he has layed at Sissy Mountain is strong.  We'z actually having a retirement get together for him on Sunday. 8942.gif

Just knowing his personality, I suspect he will coach again, if the right opportunity arises, but you never know.

The cookie slicin' ain't 'til Sunday. You ought to come up.  Bring the Mickster with you.  We'll put him in the dunk tank, and I'll split the proceeds with you.

Not sure he is out on release and our profit margin may be higher charging the North Red Bank Mountain faithful to see if we can just get him into the tank....grospiscine.gif

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
