ForkedDeerTrojan
It has been changed back to Monday night with consolation game at 6 and championship game at 7:30 I just saw that too. If the goal is to get the tournament wrapped up without having to postpone it, this is a poor decision IMO. If it snows 2-4 inches Sunday night-Monday as expected, you can forget a tournament game being played Tuesday much less Monday as temperatures are expected to plunge into the teens. The current National Weather Service forecast doesn't have the high temperature in Martin getting above freezing until Friday... Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a school district cancels classes for a school day, all after school activities including athletics are off for the day as well. And even if one of the school districts in the final four cancels school on a scheduled tournament day, that day's games would be postponed to another day. Heck, even if it snows an inch in Obion County, having school Tuesday morning at OCC would be unlikely. The winter storm watch that encompasses all of district 13AA begins Sunday at 6:00 and ends Monday at 6:00. We could have wrapped this up before the start of the storm. Oh well. I'll get off of my weather rant for now. It may not snow a single flake and I may be totally wrong, but the chance of having measurable, accumulated snow on the roads for at least 36 hours is growing increasingly likely. Guess there's a reason I'm not important enough to make these decisions. Edited February 14, 2015 by ForkedDeerTrojan

From what I hear from the radio, it was the director of schools from the host school's county office that made the overruling decision to keep it for Monday night

So who is the superintendent/director for Weakley County Schools, and does anyone know what his reasoning was?
Hater_Nation_Rules
Yeah that's I heard as well. So who is the superintendent/director for Weakley County Schools, and does anyone know what his reasoning was? Randy Frazier. I haven't heard what the "official" reason is, but I'm sure it'll have something to do with church activities. I also understood from other fans/parents that all four school ADs wanted to play it on Sunday. Hopefully, the tourney will get finished sometime this week--but the forecasted temps don't look too promising. It is my understanding that if the tourney isn't played, the seeding for the region will be the top four of the regular season....and that has come from multiple sources. Hope it gets played...everybody wants a "true" District Champ.
ForkedDeerTrojan
Randy Frazier. I just wondered if he sited a specific reason, given that the winter weather threat was imminent. Thankfully, the TSSAA postponed the start of the region tournaments to next Monday for girls and Tuesday for boys in an effort to allow more time for district tournaments to wrap things up. The games have been postponed until tomorrow, but I believe all 4 school districts with teams remaining have already cancelled school tomorrow. I suspect we will get to finish things out Wednesday night. That is unless Mr. Frazier decides church interferes with that again....... However, the TSSAA has rescheduled the region semi-final games (boys and girls) for next Wednesday, so having games at WV on a church night is inevitable. ForkedDeerTrojan
Postponed until Wednesday. The sunshine today may melt things a bit, but the coldest temperatures of the week aren't here yet, so it will just re-freeze. There is a chance that NW TN gets a dusting of snow tonight. They're calling for an inch in Martin. Another system moves in this weekend, and it looks like another icy mess. Friday-Friday night temperatures will be cold enough to produce snow, ice. Saturday it will warm to the mid 40s and turn to rain, but turn back to winter precipitation on Sunday. We might play Thursday, but it's doubtful. If the forecast holds up for this weekend, Saturday and Monday may be our last hopes. Edited February 17, 2015 by ForkedDeerTrojan

love2watch
I would think it would have to get done. I'm not understanding the hold up. Everyone around us is getting their games done. The high today is 46. I would think game times for today would be fine, but if need be why not move to later in day? It's gonna stink for parents and fans if we end up playing on Monday, same day as our girls. Union City and Martin people how are roads your way? The main ones in Dyersburg are fine.
